How (and how not) to approach a table

1. Greet first.
Introduce yourself warmly: “Good evening, I’m Patrick. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.”

2. Don’t rush.
Avoid expecting a wine order right away. Guests often need time to browse.

3. Read the table.
Just because they’re holding the list doesn’t mean they’re ready. Gauge their comfort level before stepping in.

4. Guide, don’t push.
Be available, helpful, and approachable. This builds trust, elevates hospitality, and leads to stronger wine sales.
